felons shouldn't have to be punished their entire life.

I got busted for possession of heroin and the state I was in it was a class 3 felony, it happened when I was in my early 20s. It’s the only thing I have ever been in trouble for. I was in a house where a man over dosed and died. All of us got busted for possession. It was bullshit. I didn’t even know the guy, it was our room mates deal, but he died in the living room while we were asleep.

Because of that, I can’t follow my dream of becoming a nurse, or a home health aide. It’s all I ever wanted to do since I was a kid. I helped my father all through my childhood and it’s just something I loved doing. I’ll never be able to follow my dream. I’m 40 years old now.

So I agree with this so much. It screwed up a huge part of my life and the cops that did this to me, didn’t think twice about what it would do to my future.
