A few ‘do Americans eat/drink …….. on daily basis’ questions ?

A lot of older people eat beets. I was forced to as a kid, so now I don't go near them.

Buckwheat--I don't. You can buy it in the store, though.

I had to look up kefir. We have some things that are mildly similar, so I think that is something that is just different here.

A lot of people pickle their own foods. And a lot of us buy them from local farms. It's not something the average American does, but there are people who still do it faithfully. We buy ours from the Amish.

Kvass-another one I had to look up. I can't say I have ever seen that in a bar, so I am guessing no. I also never looked for it, either...so it is possible it's available in a bar that promotes different products.
