I have a few questions. I'm a Hillary supporter, but I'm here to learn something.

After reading some of your other comments on this thread this is what i have to say about it. Bare with me for a moment and please dont mind my crude language and analogy which is inappropriately chosen to evoke a strong emotional response.

A young strong girl is walking down the street and she suddenly finds herself amidst seven scrawny men. Three of them goes like we should rape her. Another three take a stance of more compassion and suggest using lube to rape her. While the seventh guy is yelling that they should just leave the girl alone.

Even though she is capable of fighting back but underestimates herself and believes that she and the guy trying to save her cannot possibly overpower the other six guys. So she should just ignore what he has to say. And that she should just let the guys with lube rape her cauz at least it wont be as bad as getting raped without lube. And since they look almost as tough as the guys without lube, they can ensure that she only gets raped with lube.

That is how your "pragmatist" rhetoric sound like. Everyday the corporations, insurance companies, oil companies and the big banks are raping the hard working people of this country (don't believe me watch The Big Short or talk to some lower middle class college student or someone who had to go to a hospital recently with sub par insurance or talk to someone who lost their jobs due to bad trade deals like NAFTA, TPP etc).

I apologize for trivializing rape like that but for people who are stuck in the vicious circle of poverty, everyday life is worse then that. And at this pace the number of people entering that vicious cycle is far higher then the ones leaving it. We need to fix this broken system and we need to do it now. We have reached very close to the point where no one can run for office without the billionares support. And this might be our last chance to elect someone to reverse that trend before it is too late.
