Former ELCA. your church is their sister organization, and both are members of the LWF. I do not know the specifics of ELCIC, but going on the assumption that youre similar enough to ELCA:

1) I do not believe it will be possible for organizational reunion. Between myself and knowing other converts from LWF denoms, though, i can forsee those with efficient grace finding themselves in RCIA, and your organizations crumbling over time due to aging and dwindling congregations.

as for why no organizational reunion? There are too many irreconcilable differences, and your ecclesial community is organizationally entangled with too many other denominations to easily break with them cleanly. You would have to break communion with pretty much every other church youre in communion with and then radically change your policies on communion, homosexuality, ecclesiology and holy orders. your leadership would never assent to that.
