Few things look more suspicious than a blank internet history

If you wanted to go as far as you could, VPNs and/or Tor (them being used together doesn't really help though), a secure operating system (such as TAILS, or some other Linux distros), and use of public Wi-Fi.

But, realistically, it's safe to go with a good VPN that doesn't keep logs (such as TorGuard, PIA, or some other similar services) and a browser that isn't and hasn't been signed into an account.

It's always good to be aware of what you want to protect as far as privacy goes, since any measure will be a sacrifice of time, effort, and/or function to some extent. In the end, the only thing most companies want from the average end user is to target advertising/products at them and make more money.
