I've been playing GW2 since beta but FFXIV is my main MMO now. GW2 started to go downhill after the layoffs, that's when I came to FFXIV because this game has actual plans for the future, it's still growing, it gets meaningful content updates. Sadly, I can't say the same thing about GW2. Yes, they did announce a new expansion but have you seen the last 3 story updates? They are like 5% of what FFXIV releases in ONE patch! The difference is enormous.

Gameplay-wise I enjoy FFXIV more as well and I hate myself for not trying it sooner. There's no meta here, every job is viable! We also have player housing, dungeons aren't dead content, trials and raids are awesome too. And we have better fashion (glamour), I absolutely hate the obnoxious infusions in GW2. The only thing I prefer in GW2 is the mount system, tbh.
