FFXIV: Shadowbringers Review - "Shadowbringers is more than just a masterful arc in a beloved tale; it’s one of the best Final Fantasy stories ever realized, showcasing an MMORPG at the apex of its craft." | CGMagazine

given that for most people mmos are games they play for hundreds if not thousands of hours, 20-30 hours is a pretty small entry bar.

I play mmo's and when i don't have fund for the first 30 (THIRTY!) hours i'll drop it. I had fun playing WOW vanilla and i honestly don't know how much time it took to get to level 60 but it was a bunch. If a game/MMO needs 30 hours+ to get interesting, there is an issue IMO.

And even then, if its so abhorrent to you that you cant keep playing after 20 hours, you arent likely to enjoy what comes after anyway.

Exactly my point. A game you have to pay monthly subs for should be engaging from the get go and not be interesting after you already spent 35 hours on it. There are plenty of people who have to regulate their playtime and spending 35+ hours PLUS a sub to get into a single game when you can experience other games for way less time&money is just laughable.
