Interesting stuff.
May be too overpowering to be expressed at all, creating a false appearance of coldness to the point of indifference, and may be completely misunderstood.
I resonate with this a lot. But... I wonder if this is more the case for men who are socialized not to show much emotion? It would make sense if there is a difference there, with Fi men showing up more like this and Fi women showing up as more turbulent and expressive (relative to a culture where that kind of difference in socializing occurs). I don't have clear data on that though, wonder what peoples experiences are?
Fi is not that person who wears themselves out people pleasing.
Maybe not as archetype, but I don't see any reason to believe an Fi type can't develop people-pleasing behavior in response to trauma. I do think it's going to manifest a little differently and in that, I agree. Based on my experience with people-pleasing and differences in type, I would characterize it as something like: Fe people-pleasing looks more like doting. Fi people-pleasing looks more like withholding negative reactions. So kind of like active vs. passive, which would make sense with the direction of the functions.
