I think everyone is missing the point that this is not the norm. I agree it’s abusive behavior and should be talked about at length (eventually with a counselor), but I don’t think one bad day is grounds to label him as a fuckup permanent. Basically, there are no black and white situations. He displayed behavior that is indicative of problems in the future. If he acknowledges that and the two of you can move on, great. But it needs to happen now, now later.

I think you know the situation and circumstances best and already know whether or not you’re okay with it. Go with your gut. If you think it might happen again, get out. If you think it was a one off thing, stay. Up to you and only you.
