That's like saying that North by Northwest is overlooked because when compared to Psycho.

I'm not even sure what's the argument here, since even you seem to think that those are in top-5 of his famous films. John Ford is regularly cited as one of the greatest filmmakers of all-time. You think that that happened because people only watched two of his films? Just like Hitchcock John Ford has such an insanely acclaimed filmography that you'd have to exclude at least 15 of his most popular films before you'd encounter films that could reasonably be called overlooked like Mogambo or The Sun Shines Bright for example.
