[Filthy Centrist] The Month of Mythic has brought out the WORST of the community!

I'm struggling to understand why THIS is the straw that's breaking the camel's back.

I mean I'm not a huge fan of the REQ system, I much prefer the unlocks from Reach and Halo 4, but the REQ system is... fine for Warzone. Like just take out the random armor sets and emblems and boom, just have the REQ packs give you weapon certifications for Warzone.

Admittedly, I don't like microtransactions being part of Halo, but at the same time I've never really cared because you can earn packs pretty easily in the game. I mean they did have special packs that gave you armor from Reach and a guaranteed certification and I didn't hear a whole lot of backlash.

But now they announce that there's a pack where you can get a Prophet's Bane certification and suddenly everyone's up in arms?? Did I miss something??

I mean look at the Memories of Reach pack, you were guaranteed an armor set, and I didn't hear any backlash.

Or wasn't there a pack when Warzone Firefight came out where you were guaranteed a legendary certification if bought? I didn't see backlash then.

But now here's a pack that guarantee's a specific REQ, and everyone's losing their damn minds! Like what's so different about this pack compared to the other special packs to warrant such a backlash?!

It's not like it changes the gameplay and it isn't really Pay To Win. Warzone still limits you to the Level system, that's the whole point of it not being Pay To Win. Doesn't matter what you have, you can't use it until the appropriate level, and then have to recharge those points once they're used up.

If they said "Buy this pack and you get the Prophet's Bane certification, AND get to use it on Level 1!", then I'd understand the Pay To Win complaint, but as it stands all this pack does is give you a lot of one weapon for your REQ collection, I don't see the big deal about it.

Now with that said, I do think the price is a tad much, and if you didn't like the REQ system before then this definitely won't quell your anger. But the hate for this is at the level of the MCC, and to me, that's ridiculous.

I personally didn't care about the MCC multiplayer issues. I'm a campaign guy, that's why I love Halo, but I will NEVER discredit anyone who feels betrayed at the lack of support for the MCC. Campaign is where I live and breathe, but multiplayer is where others do and 343 dropped the ball on it big time.

But for this to receive the same amount of hate feels completely unnecessary to me. Maybe I'm brainless and I'm just missing the justified hate, but I think this is all a tad much for a REQ pack.
