Finally got the memo from Google, will Play Music actually still be able to use after the YTM transfer?

You can continue to play songs on both apps for now, but not at the same time! Not that anybody would want to do that. I dropped GPM on my phone, but both apps are still on my desktop.

There are some problems with YTM. 1) It does not prevent duplicates from loading, 2) it doesn't ID existing dupes, and 3) there is no way to organize songs within Playlists - so, unless you have an even better memory than Donald Trump brags about, you can't visually scan a large PL for dupes with much success

(GPM allowed you to organize a Playlist by Song, Artist, Album, Genre, etc., so you could easily scan all of a particular artist's songs on a PL. Or you could sort by Album. You can't do that with YTM.)

But here's a workaround that at least will enable you to delete many, if not all, duplicates:
When you're playing a Playlist, you can see all your upcoming songs by clicking on "UP NEXT." On that list, dupes are adjacent to each other, so it's easy to spot them. On your phone, you can remove a Song by swiping the title to the left, and it will disappear into cyberspace.

Hint: If you want to keep multiple versions of the same song, check the playing time on dupes before deleting them. Identical playing times almost always means you've got two copies of the same version.
