Finally got the pictures back from our 9/26 wedding! So many pictures!!

I was waiting to get the pictures back before posting about the wedding. I'm sorry there are so many up. I couldn't decide when narrowing it down. Considering it rained all week, it was a beautiful, clear, dry day. Amazing sunset and full moon. Good food, good drink. The ceremony was beautiful and just what we were wanting. Our Day Of coordinator was the best and everything ran so smoothly.

There was only one problem with the whole day...the DJ. I hired him because he'd worked at least three other events in my family and we knew from that that he was trustworthy and did good work. Well, two days before the wedding, I'm texting to confirm details and he says "Other Guy will be there at this time." He passed it off to someone else and didn't tell me. So, I took Other Guy's contact information. I was annoyed, but with two days, there's not much to do. Well, Other Guy was late first of all. Second of all, he didn't have our music. I'd emailed the DJ the list of songs and audio files as well. This is important because our first dance cusses frequently. The version I sent was the edited one without that.

The coordinator comes up to me after the dinner before we're going to start the dancing and says I needed to talk to the DJ. He says that the song cusses and if that was alright. That he could bleep it out if I wanted him to. I started to freak, but there was nothing to do. I was so mad because it was either have the cussing or have bleeping throughout and trust he knows when to do it. That's not how I wanted to remember my first dance. I was also mad at myself because the night before, I had gone to my parents' house and put the songs on a USB just to be safe. My dad was going to add some extra songs onto it just to dance to, so I left it there. I hadn't seen it since and figured it was forgotten. I went to talk to my dad and moaned about forgetting the backup I'd made when he goes, "This one?" and pulls it out of his pocket! I almost cried I was so happy. I took it to the DJ (this is where I got really mad) and he said, "It'll take a few minutes to get it into the program. I can just bleep it out." DUDE! The right music is here. In my hand! And you don't want to take the time and just bleep out our first dance!! It was so unprofessional.

He did take it and played the correct music, but he just did an awful job over all. You couldn't dance to the music he played and he did that weird thing where they overlap the songs part of the way through instead of letting one end and starting the next. We had the reception scheduled to end by 11, but everyone was gone by 9. We just sent him and his girlfriend (who he kept getting distracted with) home early. Catering and the bartenders helped us clean up, but we were out of there by 10. It was kind of lame that it ended so soon, but everyone said they had a good time. Overall, it went really well.
