It's finally started popping up on my newsfeed.

Yes, how do the photos of a bunch of 20-something-year-old junior editors milking the 'real women' meme for all its worth and doing not much else compare to women whose profession it is is to look as good as possible on a specific day and in a specific location chosen precisely for the quality and aesthetics of the lighting, surroundings, etc.?

I'd like to see this sort of comparison made in an area they're more familiar with. I'd like to see an article about how a high schooler's account of old men and fishing compares to Hemingway's. And the high schooler must not have had any access ever to a dictionary. Actually, make him one of those kids that pride themselves on never having read a book. Or let's ban Shakespeare and Melville because "Real people don't write like that! Bad writers the world over are tormented by the thought that they will never be able to create anything as profound as 'Moby Dick', think of their hurt feelings!"

Because this is precisely what this is about, lack of professionalism, bad preparation, bad work ethic, NOT a vast conspiracy set up by the fashion industry to make everyone else look bad. All the girls in the 'shoot' complained about how much the sand hurt their knees. Do they honestly think Victoria's Secret models don't experience just as many inconveniences on an average shoot? That their beauty makes them immune to sand, or cold? The models have to bear all that, plus they have no venue to whine about it, plus they have to bear the derision and misplaced anger of 'real women' on the internet. And you know why on the internet? Because no one would have the guts to tell them to their faces that all the hours of looking after themselves and honing their craft and working on their careers were useless, because hey, I don't look like that in a bathing suit after I've had a pack of candy!

I know buzzfeed churns out awful clickbait like this to support quality longform pieces, but it still saddens they don't feel any obligation to be reasonable and not diss on other media professionals just to get a few bonus internet points.
