Finance opportunities

I don’t have a huge dog in this. I just hate it when people knowingly hand out advice which is unsubstantiated to people who don’t know better because I was misled in HS by peers.

Edit: I updated it to say exaggerated.

My point is by stating that you “know people who made it to decent banking jobs even in NYC” you tacitly imply that there is virtually no difference between the two schools Penn and Stanford. In essence one doesn’t get an advantage by going to Penn because everyone who tries at Stanford will make it. which is false.

You’re making it sound like it’s a no brainer and Stanford is a clear choice. For IB it’s not.

You are right about PE.

Notice I said “DEAD SET ON BANKING” nothing about PE was mentioned.

If OP wants to do PE / VC they should go to Stanford.

If they are dead set on banking Stanford may not be the best fit.
