Well, you're right, that's not nearly enough information at all. Perhaps you both need to get on the call with this oncologist so you can act as her advocate. Then you can pressure them for a better understanding of why nothing is happing for 9 months, what's going to happen at that 9 month checkup and what is potentially going to happen after that checkup.

I'm betting your mom got more into than she remembers because of how upsetting and confusing it all is. A new gyno-onc may be in the cards, or at least a 2nd opinion, but don't set off that nuke until you've had a chance to talk to the current oncologist.
