I was fired because of other women's insecurities

There are a lot of comments on here about catty women. I wanted to share that some men display this behavior as well.

I recently quit a decent job because the company I worked for had my worksite short staffed for over a year. As a result, two men were working 12HR shifts daily, five to six days a week. I was working "part-time" by only working three 12HR shifts per week so I could finish my degree. The other two guys were so jealous I didn't financially need to work more they began to blame me for all the problems at work. They quit releasing the work schedule until the first day it was in effect, they stopped passing down vital information or emails, making me look incompetent when I failed to complete a task assigned to them earlier in the week that I knew nothing about. They gossiped about me, spreading rumors of bad work ethic, or not showing up for work. They actually had the site supervisor convinced I was not showing up for work four days a week. When in actuality I only worked three days, as per my part-time agreement for school.

When I confronted them about their bad behavior and gossip they said to my face that all the bad stuff would go away if I would agree to work 8HRS a day, seven days a week indefinitely, until we get the staff we needed. After we had already waited a whole year for more staff! I told them they were crazy if they thought I was going to put my education on hold for that company.

I got tired of the hostile work environment and told them to take me off next week's schedule. Now I can't use them as a reference because I only gave them notice five days from my next shift and they tell interviewers I quit without any notice and thereby ineligible for rehire.

All this, because my fellow coworkers were too embarrassed to admit they were overworked, underslept, and underpaid, which was the real reason we were short staffed for almost a year. Nobody else wanted the job!
