Fired Comet Cafe workers protest at BelAir Cantina in demand of severance pay from former employers

It's tough to discuss without sounding like a bootstraps guy (which I'm absolutely not). On one hand, this is what protesting is all about, trying to make a change - should we have mandatory severance pay? Should Mojofuco change their ways? But on the other hand, in the court of public opinion these specific protesters kind of look entitled and ignorant toward how employment works. I think a lot of younger people (myself included) are shocked as they age and see how unfair and shitty the world is. That time period before you become cynical (where these specific protesters are at now) can either be filled with acceptance or passion for change (either one has the potential for cringe). Then I go back to my first hand, this is what protesting is all about and we definitely need people out there trying to make a change with their hearts in the right place - even if the specific request doesn't necessarily make sense.

I haven't seen anything yet that shows me that they are entitled to severance pay. That being said, maybe it's a discussion we should have going forward and if this is what triggers it, that's pretty cool.
