Firefighter suspended after allegedly saying he would rather 'save a dog than a million n*****s from a fire'

Wow, you must work for Utopia Fire Department... Because I have never in my life heard such shit LOL!

I am an arson investigator... I have a lengthy history on both the fire and police sides, and have to hold both licenses in my state. I work for a very large city, and I'll tell you, that is FAR from my experience on either side.

I'm in the South, in an area where there are a lot of illegals (I'm not assuming... They tell us), and most of the blacks that we deal with are lower income. Most of the illegals we transport have no insurance, and a lot of the blacks are in Medicaid and use 911 as a taxi to the ER. Obviously not every case is this way, but it happens enough that it is the stereotype (not that that's okay).

Anyway... I'll just say that I hear "the n word" and derogatory words for Mexicans thrown around a lot at the station. A LOT. I'm not outright saying that I SEE people not being helped because of race. But I definitely don't see this "One America" attitude you do. But I'm glad that where you are is that way. I'm just kinda speechless when people say that things are like that where they live/work.
