First Aid: Weekly Injury Thread for January 18, 2018

Does anyone have any knowledge of or experience with myositis ossificans? I fell on my elbow at the gym from about 10 ft up 5 months ago and ended up with a deep tissue bruise because the mats are hard af. I believe the fall mostly damaged muscle, and after a few weeks calcification was detectable in the surrounding tissue through x-ray. I’m not sure the extent of the damage to ligaments in the area, I just know some mantle moves really hurt and I cannot lock off on this arm despite it being my dominant arm. My doctor pretty much just prescribed massage and stretching. It’s straight now from hanging on the wall which is nice. I’m curious to see if anyone recommends anything I haven’t thought of like certain exercises or voodoo floss or anything else.
