First Christmas?

Christmas was just so magical when I was growing up, I’m 33 and have 3 kids now and I am the one who leaves the presents from Santa... and I still see it as a magical night!

I would start with Santa! I know it’s all BS and lies but whatever, for kids it’s soooo much fun. In my family, Santa brings stockings and a few unwrapped presents. We fill stockings with candy, small action figures, lip balms, basically anything that can fit. And for the unwrapped gifts we do board games, stuffed animals, smaller toys, basically anything you want. (There is nothing better then the sound of a group of kids whispering at 7am, tip toeing into my room asking if they can get up to open gifts.)

And then you guys could decide how you want to do gifts. For kids/cousins we draw names and then whoever name you draw- you buy them a gift.

As parents we buy our kids gifts, and then we give our kids a set amount of $ to buy us parents a gift and their siblings. Kids get so much joy, gratification from picking a gift and then giving it. We really try to focus on the giving, being with family, being grateful, at Xmas and not getting the latest Apple product.

And then food. So much food. We do turkey on Xmas day but I know some families do hams and some families go to the movies on Xmas day. I would just do what suits your family, and make traditions!
