First death

So my neighbor who was in his 80’s (had cardiac problems and prostate cancer) and had lost his wife (7months before) went down while hanging Christmas lights at his home his son in law had someone get me as he was a neighbor too. I did chest compressions on him until ems arrived it seems like forever. They could not get a line, he was down a long time the aed was never shockable. Even with all that and with police and ems telling me what a great job I did.... he died and I still hear the crack of the ribs. I understand your doubts, a neighbor who wasn’t home is an Ed nurse with acls... let me vent... he said even if I was home there was nothing we could’ve done even in the hospital the chance of cpr working with all the adequate meds and skilled people are slim... that’s why Rapid Response/Stat Responses are so important you catch them before they need it. You didn’t do anything wrong, definitely look into EAP.
