First German Shepard puppy we’ve had. Meet Guinness, “Ginny”. Tips, tricks, etc? She’s so smart already! We haven’t had a puppy in 10 years!

Don't fix her until she is fully grown. Let the hormones do their job for the shepherd. It will go a long way with back end problems when she is older.

Redirect the biting - toys and balls. Anytime she wants to bite put somethign in her mouth that you want her to bite.

Potty training a lot the first few weeks. Puppies can't hold their bladder well. I slept on the floor next to mines crate and every hour would wake up and bring her outside. IF she tells you she has to go outside - drop everythign and grab her and run. Doesn't matter if its raining or snowing or freezing. Don't take time to get a jacket or umbrella or anything. Any accident are your fault not hers in the first few weeks.

After that she will start to let you know when its time for a bathroom break. Listen always. Even if your not sure if she is telling you she needs to potty - get her outside.

If she geos through a few heat cycles before you get her fixed (IF you get her fixed) cloth diapers are much better than disposables. Much more comfy for the dog.

Got our GSD during covid so she isn't socialized very well. But on the plus side - nobody can break into our house without her ripping their face off :)

We got ours at 8 weeks old and she is now turning 16 months. Ball is everything right now - and we give her lots of exercise!

Oh and first year shedding isn't that much but after that OH MY GOD. Get used to brushing her and get a stick vac and another vac. After age 1 the two coats - when they shed they shed another dog!
