I literally got told

We change how we act and talk around people all the time to make them more comfortable. Unless you talk the same around your friends as you do your grandma, you should have experience with this.

To which I said, yes, we change how we act around people, so when I’m near a transgender I admit I change how I act, I treat them with respect call them what they want to be called. Why does that mean I change how I act around everyone? That literally goes against what that person said to me.
