The worst is when they're able to keep you alive though. My grandmother was kept alive for like 20 years hooked on machines. Unable to even sit up. A bloated stomach like a beach ball. Bones all crooked from being immobile so long. Pee collected in a bag and poop in a diaper that would smear all around her since she was laying down. Unable to see more than 1 inch in front of her. Unable to move her mouth properly, so couldn't talk - could only mumble sounds. Couldn't eat; had to get nutrients in an IV. Couldn't hear much. In horrible chronic pain.

Just basically paralyzed with no senses, but fully conscious, with none of the 5 senses working properly in a stale old person's home in constant pain for 20 years before she finally passed. Kept alive by modern technology the whole time.

I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemies. I wish that assisted suicide was legal in the US when she was going through all of this.
