First human trial of LSD in 40+ years hopes to develop knowledge of consciousness

The beautiful thing about LSD is that it comes with its own "cooldown". If you dose more often than once every 2 weeks or so, you won't experience as strong of a trip as you would otherwise. The less time you wait between trips, the weaker the effects will be. Additionally it's non-addictive so that's not an aspect that you have to worry about.

Personally I've tried it three times and they've been great experiences, but purity is definitely a concern. The smart way to determine if what you have is real LSD is to use a test kit, but as has been mentioned elsewhere in the thread you can judge based on taste or by blotter size. The most common LSD knock-off is 25i-NBOMe which produces arguably similar effects (I wouldn't know myself) but also requires larger quantities of the drug to do so which requires larger and thicker blotters than ordinary acid. This is not a fool-proof method, but say that you've bought it previously and the next time you come to find your dealer selling you larger blotters than before, get that test kit involved. You do not want to mess with NBOMe, as people have died from it.

I would add that you should disregard MrWhippie's warning to only do it once or twice, cause that's a crock. LSD isn't going to make you go totally nuts unless you abuse it hardcore, and I'm not even sure about that. Plus I'm sure you'll find that it's very tough to use it too often even if you tried. LSD leaves you tripping for roughly ten hours, so unless you've got all the time in the world for it you're not gonna have an issue with it. (Coming back to add onto this: the worst that can happen is that you go through a bad trip, and if that happens just put on something light-hearted and try to calm yourself down. Remember that whatever you're experiencing is impermanent and will go away as soon as you sober up. It's best to have someone to supervise you and/or trip with you so you don't get involved in any high-shenanigans. And of course, start with small doses! One hit should be plenty the first time.)

I highly recommend trying it, I won't ramble on about all the great aspects of it since many others have already covered that. I wish I could find another supplier for it but have had no luck in that regard. Once I do, I'll trip at least a few more times and I have no concern over it causing me to lose my shit. That being said, make sure that when you trip you have a couple of appropriate movies or shows queued up to watch to keep the mood light and avoid a bad trip. Kids movies are fantastic for this, documentaries are also good (just so long as they don't include too many downer scenes like animals dying). I would recommend watching something that you've seen before since you'll probably be spacing out most of the time. I have some good memories of rewatching the Lego Movie and rubbing my face on my cat just marveling at how amazing it all was.

Alright! This post has gone on too long. Hope you have fun with it! And feel free to ask any questions if you'd like.
