The first job

Utilise your nurses. As a vet nurse I see so many new grads start their first jobs and they want to do everything themselves, and which only equals a burnout in about three months into the job (I've seen it happen plenty). be aware there is a time and a place to develop your practical skills if a patient is poorly let someone who can quickly take bloods/ place an them on IVFT ASAP please don't get offended if this happens. Patient > pride

Involve the nurses in your cases quite often we've seen way more than we let on and can share our tips and tricks. I'll be honest Nurses are ruthless creatures, it's hard to get our trust but once youve gained it we will have your back.

Good luck.
