The First Small Council Session of King Selwyn’s Reign

Ser Tywin sneered himself at Lord Baelor's words with a shake of his head. He found it unsurprising that a rebel and a traitor to the crown--- the first traitor to the crown, that is, would say such a thing. His family swore direct loyalty to the King but instead he defied him. Now he prances about holding a royal sword, his arse filling a seat on the small council, and after all those gifts from the Iron Throne, dares to hold some dead serving whore in higher esteem than the Crown Princess. Still upset about the execution of his traitor father.

"The Maidenvault?" He repeats for emphasis. "A golden cage, no doubt, but still a cage. The Princess may well have brought this on herself, I won't deny that. All the same, her absence will be immediately noted at court. High Lords and scullery maids alike will begin to ask questions, and before long, we'll have no control over the rumors about what happened to the Princess. Who knows what they will say? They might chance upon the truth... or they might make up something even more appalling. What I mean, my lords, is any action moving her away from court may do us more harm than good."

Lord Varamyr made more sense, in any case. He still wanted to place her in the Maidenvault, though. Which seemed a bit much for some servant wench to him. It seemed that if the Princess really did kill this girl for no good reason besides wanting sadism, we should oblige her royal prerogative in the best way we can, in a way safer for the royal reputation.

"I say if the royal girl has such a penchant for blood, we need not send her away, nor lock her away at all. Let Morrec, the Chief Gaoler, give her a tour of the dungeons. If we give her an, er, outlet for her violence on criminal scum, the wretches, theives, and rapers in the black cells... Well that's better for everybody. No more dead servants, the Princess need not be hidden away from the public, and we'll have a couple less mouths to feed in the dungeons." He liked his plan. Now it just remained to be seen if the rest of the council did.
