First time buyer, would like some help please.

With Solaris, you can lower the value in on the customs declaration to whatever you want - during checkout they have this slider that let's you adjust this. You can also choose to have the shipping costs listed as 0, instead of the actual value.

If you do this and your package does not get inspected or if it gets inspected and they don't question the value listed then great, you pay less taxes. If you have to proof what you actually paid, then it will be quite clear the value isn't correct.

I also get the impression it matters whether the figure gets listed as a toy or a figure/statue. Sometimes I need to pay 6.5% customs fee + 21% VAT, sometimes only VAT (I live in Holland). I also pay an additional fixed handling fee for the company handling the import (PostNL) - that's either 13 or 17.50 euro. I think DHL and especially FedEx want even more.
