First-time buyers hit 10-year high as buy-to-let property sales fade

That's what I mean, taking into account your rent. You're taking into account your mortgage payments. If I rent at £500 a month for 30 years, that's 180K. That's what you're buying your house for, and you're paying back 325K total. With saving and pensions, you can make that much with 23 or 30 quid a week on top of rent.

I'm 33. And there's nothing unexpected with renting. If something breaks, the landlord fixes it. The washing machine broke last year and he didn't sort it for 3 weeks. I sent him a bill for a load of washing I had done at the launderette, no problem there.

It's not advice. You can't buy. So you have to rent. So whats the point in moaning about it?

It's only a crisis because all people have in their heads is buying a house. It's not their fault, but....have some imagination. Enjoy your life, you only have one! Why bother about something that's not going to happen.
