First time keeping up with a Basho?

My guess is that KGf is some sort of attempt to measure the strength of the Tachiai...Hakuho/Kaisai combine to weigh 362kg and had a KGf of 377 but I am just spit balling.

Sumo is not super open in the sense that rikishi have a code of conduct...there is no Charles Barkley of sumo...so it's a bit hard to judge (esp as a non Japanese speaker) who is a nice guy or not.

Mitakeumi, Endo, Takakeisho are very popular...Abi has a lot of fans as does Onosho... Tochinoshin is very popular amongst foreigners.

Ishiura is divisive...he uses the henka (the jump to the side move) a lot and it's considered a cheap way to win...personally, I live for the day when somebody nodowa's (throat thrust) his head off.

This channel puts up the English highlight package from NHK (although later in the day than Natto or Kintamayama) https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgW_qyy8E0wQyGOjjXHlitg
