First time posting here, excuse the rant on TVET education

The Unions associated with the TVET trades have the power to make significant changes in this issue. As for the people in the trade, I think they should all get unionized. This allows fair competition and helps set the standard of work for all the tradesmen. The desired effect would be something like what happens in caucasian countries where if if I hire a plumber or electrician, I can expect the highest quality of work but at rates where the profession will be respected. Plumbers and nurses for example can make bank in ang mo countries, however the caveat is that they can deliver work quality that warrants the respect.

As mentioned in the OP, politics come into play when we talk about unions and sometimes nothing can be done.
