First time selling stuff on Ebay

There are risks and nuances unique to every platform. Don't get the wrong impression, most transactions go smoothly, but nothing is 100% safe.

I sold hundreds of laptops last year and my fraud rate was only about a 2%-3%. They were mostly off-lease business units that aren't particularly sought after, and my account/store is nearly a decade old with several thousand buyer feedback. High-demand items like Macbooks will always attract more potential scammers, and you'll be a bigger target if your account is new with little feedback.

If you're hesitant, you may want to try selling first on Facebook marketplace or another local selling app. Be aware using eBay will cost about ~15% in fees/shipping. Deduct that amount from your local asking price upfront, or factor that into your negotiation thresholds, and it should help for a quicker sale.

Just curious, do you know your Macbook year/model/specs?
