/u/Mdaybloom had the right idea of it. Let me give you some good oldies from when I started back around when Mark had ~400K subscribers.

  • Maere: When Lights Die is the first game that I ever saw Mark play. I was a big baby and was just NOPEing all over the place. Mark's reactions were just so wonderful that I had to get over my fears to be able to watch more.
  • Even scarier for me, at the time, was his original Kraven Manor playthrough back when it was just a demo. Mark played the full game when it was completed, but not much has changed and his reactions to the original seem more genuine to me. Can't beat 'em.
  • Conversely, I prefer Mark's playthrough of the updated version of Phobia: Fear of Darkness, since the devs fixed most of the game's broken points from the original. Mark's reactions to the scares in the original game are memorable, though.
  • DreadOut is a game that is full of NOPE. I haven't watched any of Mark's new Fatal Frame playthrough, but this game is supposed to be very similar. If so, then I'll need to put on my brown pants before booting up that particular playlist. This playthrough of DreadOut made me not want to go to bed... So spoopy...
  • Another favorite one-shot horror playthrough is a game simply called Stairs, with a really great atmosphere and a nice twist to the collection mechanic found in a lot of horror games. Definitely worth a watch.
  • I find myself returning to Mark's Pesadelo playthrough, in spite of some not-so-good graphics and some frustrating moments involving Mark's silliness and the fact that the game's in Portuguese. It's a fun playthrough all the same, and it makes me flail like no other.
  • Once upon a time, Mark thought that an RPG-style horror game was not going to be able to scare him even a little bit. One episode of The Witch's House changed it all forever. Some of the best Mark reactions of all time are in this playthrough.
  • My next-favorite horror RPG games that Mark has played, in order, are Mad Father, Misao, and Ao Oni. All have very memorable scares and, in the case of the first two, compelling stories.
  • My favorite Oculus Rift playthrough of Mark's was a game called Dreadhalls. If nothing else, take the title "scared to tears" to heart. Mark loses it.
  • Mark's Drunk Minecraft playlist can be hit and miss for me, probably because I never got too much into the game itself. Certain episodes are quite good, though, including Five Nights at Minecraft, Smoky the Bear, and The Return of Slendy's Nipples. I'm sure other fans will be able to pick out some of their favorite Drunk Minecraft videos, too.
  • One of my favorite Markiplier fan games from Mark's first-ish year on YouTube is called Markiplier: Trapped in Rick's Game. The inside-jokes don't interfere with the story of the game (what little there is), so it's accessible for new fans, and it has some of the biggest scares I've ever seen from Mark. My boyfriend and I constantly quote this video to each other, so I guess you can say that it has staying power.
  • His Outlast and Outlast: Whistleblower playthroughs are very good. It's so great to watch Mark get into a story like Outlast, and he really powers through some areas of the game that would cause me to fail all over the place.
  • And to finish it off, Mark's Prop Hunt playlist is full of hilarious gameplay from Mark and friends. You get bonus points if you go into some of his old livestreams (like his Farewell Cincinnati Livestream from last year) to find some great Prop Hunt moments.

Happy watching! I hope you continue to enjoy his videos and all the good that our Markimoo has brought to the world. And welcome to the Markiplier's Heroes/Ticklescrotes Army community! :)
