David Robinson will always be my favourite Spur.

1992, I was a kid just getting into basketball and basketball cards. I sent D Rob a letter via the Spurs in the mail. I wrote him a letter detailing why I loved him so much and why he was my favourite player. I sent him a card that I asked him to sign but if he didn't want to he didn't have to

He wrote back, a handwritten letter thanking me for my support. Signed by him. Sent the 1992-93 Upper Deck card back signed, and gave me a free membership to his fan club and said if I was ever in San Antonio to let the team know.

I never did manage to get to San Antonio, but it brightened what was otherwise a pretty shitty childhood.

I treasured that letter and that card. My abusive mother took the letter and card from me one day and I do not know what happened to it. I was distraught. A kid.

He will always be my favourite Spur.
