[Florida] Don't ever take your car to Gunther VW in Coral Springs, FL.

i know people who have had great results and others who haven't. forget about the people i know and just look at the reviews online. lots of them are negative.

the emissions debacle has nothing to do with my situation. i just bring it up because people want to act as if people who work for VW would never do something negative in order to create new opportunities for business.

Yeah, I have a sunroof. It's rained a gazillion times since I had the roof upholstery replaced. Only after I get the car back; there is a leak. Ok, let's say that's a coincidence.

One brake pad worn. The pad on the exterior side of the rotor is completely worn out while the one on the inside is just fine. Ok, let's just say that is another coincidence.

Coolant loss. There is no leak. I already checked. If there was a leak, I would've noticed it long before I ever took the car to VW. I put some coolant in today and it's just fine. Let's call this a coincidence as well.

Okay, three coincidences after getting my car back from the dealer...mind you a dealer that doesn't allow you to view what they are doing. How can someone have peace of mind if they are not allowed to see what's going on? Other dealerships and other repair shops allow you to view what's going on; whether it be through a window or by standing outside and being able to view what is done in the garage/work area.

I'm confident that they are doing something shady because of my past experiences with Gunther VW. As I've stated, years ago I took my car there for a recall issue and they tried to tell me that I needed new brake pads. The service guys name was Randy. I told Randy that I just changed my brake pads two weeks before that and he quickly became silent; as if he knew he had been caught out in trying to hustle someone.

I have every right to point the finger at VW because my car went in with one issue; and came back with three issues. In addition, they did a sloppy job on the initial issue and tried to get me to accept the way they did the job. I went in to get my ignition cylinder lock and housing replaced. When I got the car back, the cover that's behind the steering wheel was not in place and the clips were sticking out. I had to practically beg them to correct this. In addition, they came back and told me that the replacement parts were warped, which caused the cover not to be in place. Well, why the fuck did they install a warped part to begin with? Why not call me and tell me the part they got is defective/incorrect and just get the correct thing? Instead, they make no mention of it until I come back and point out the cover being out of place.

I'm not saying all dealerships or all repair shops or all techs/mechanics are bad. Of course not. It's just that in my experience with Gunther VW, I've always felt ripped off and that everything can't just be a coincidence.
