Florida Panthers Prospects Yearly Review

Connor Brickley has been playing as a winger down here in SA, just to let you know. I like him a lot, he probably won't get a callup anytime soon but I think he has a good future. He's a very well rounded player, scores goals, gets assists, plays aggressive and hits hard, and plays solid enough defense from what I've seen. He's a player to keep an eye on for the future, in my opinion. Also, Grimaldi plays a lot better than he stats suggest. He's great at helping our team transfer from defense to offense and setting us up in the opponents end. I've noticed whenever he's scratched Rampage tend to have a harder time breaking out of the neutral zone than usual. Lately he's been playing slightly worse than usual IMO, but typically he's a good passer, decent shooter, throws a hit every now and then that's harder than you'd expect from a guy his size, and seems to give his full effort each shift. He's a bit of a fan favorite down here. Bobby Butler is fantastic, definitely our best goal scorer. He can be a great playmaker as well. Like you said though, he's getting a a tad bit old and it seems like he underperforms when he does get called up. Probably just going to remain in the AHL Quinton Howdens had a very quiet year because he's been plagued with injuries for the majority of the season. He's only been in the lineup consistently for about the last month or so and hasn't done much for me to comment on yet. Kyle Rau is brand new, but I like him so far based on the couple of games I've seen him in. Logan Shaw, having compared the stats but in my eyes he seems like he's playing a lot better than he was last season. Still needs more time though, for sure. Haven't seen much of Trocheck this year since he's been up in the NHL for most of the season, which is where he belongs if you ask me. Out of all our players he's the prospect that's the most NHL-ready. Garret Wilson is a personal favorite of mine, I'm not confident that he has a future in the NHL but he's a fun player to watch. Plays a power forward role, I guess I would say? Plays tough, hits a lot, scores a good enough amount of points, not afraid to drop the gloves. He does get quite a few penalties though. Andrew Yogan, can't think of much to say about him. Not a stand-out player, just does his job. Can't recall him making any costly mistakes, but I don't remember any big plays from him either. Doesnt hurt or help, good for some forward depth but I can't imagine him in the NHL. If you watched a good amount of Panthers games this year, then I can't say much about Petrovic that you don't already know. Reliable enough on defense, still has potential to get better. I think 3rd Pair on the Panthers was a good spot for him to be right now, but that's just me. Jonathan Racine, not a fan of him to be honest. He can play passable defense and if you want a guy that can drop the gloves he'll deliver, but his undisciplined penalties are a huge detriment. He always seems to commit them at the worst times, and its something that's probably cost us the game a couple times. Sam Brittain has been very impressive in the games he's played for us, but he only played 6 games here (not sure exactly, just guessing). He'll definitely need to play more games to get a clearer picture of how good he is, but from my limited experience I personally thought he looked more promising than Houser. Haven't seen or paid enough attention the the rest of the players here to say anything about them. Sorry for the huge wall of text (on my phone right now), Im not a hockey expert by any means but I hope my opinions help give a better picture of how our prospects down here in San Antonio are doing
