Flutter: How we're building a UI framework for tomorrow at Google

I tried Hamilton: The Official App on iOS. This was the one the presentation called out on the last slide.

Tl;dr:
Clearly polished, not slow at least for me, but definitely doesn’t feel like an iOS app.

Long: All in all I tend to think it feels like an extremely polished app. Cool smooth animations on the carousels and all sorts of little polish.

But it feels like a web app, not an iOS app. Maybe that’s what designers wanted...but for me at least it’s jarring.

Things I noticed in a few minutes: Scrolling isn’t right somehow. I think it’s the bounce at the end that feels wrong.

Hamburger button animation is either dropping frames or just has a really weird curve.

Transparent overlays are not blurred. Just surprising since that’s the big aesthetic of iOS now.

System behaviors I expect to work don’t work — e.g. tapping the status bar doesn’t scroll to top.

Voiceover/accessibility support is total trash — way worse than If they had used system controls.
