[FO] Wickerwork hat and You CAN do it scarf!

To post it here as well: Wickerwork Hat, You CAN Do It Scarf

Yarn was Perfection by Kraemer Yarns
Color Evening Song
30% Merino, 70% Acrylic
Two skeins for the scarf and most of one for the hat.

Not my first FO, just the first I felt like posting. I finished the scarf midwinter, but the hat I just finished yesterday. I love it anyway and I've worn it all night. (:

Hats and socks and round things are all I can think about, because I bought a set of Hiya Hiya Sharps from my LYS (also where I got the yarn from) and I LOVE working with them! I thought it was going to be a pain in the butt to switch from Irish Cottage on long straight needles to plain ol' throwing, but the handling was way easier than anticipated.

Thoughts on the scarf pattern: the PDF has improved quite a lot since I printed it out, so I'm not sure what's still relevant. But if you're a newbie like me, watch your right and wrong sides haha! I nearly destroyed the whole thing when I got most of the way through the fourth section to find out it was on the wrong side. (I'm still fuming over that and it's months later) Not sure I would do this whole pattern again, maybe bits and pieces, but it was a great learning tool.

No complaints or extra comments on the hat, though. I would definitely make it again. And highly recommend, as well.

Things learned: Knitting in the round, magic/traveling loop, cabling, and all the stitch patterns were new.

Wet blocked lightly, and then steam blocked the scarf. Might go for another round with the steam iron because I know it will soften up a lot more. No blocking on the hat.
