Folks of AskMen, what has your Tinder experience been like and would you recommend it?

I would consider myself fairly successful on matches when comparing myself to friends who also use it. To me, Tinder is just an ego boost, and I choose not to follow up with anything besides light messaging on the app if the girl is attractive enough and initiates first. I mostly use it when I'm bored and want to see what the single girls around my area are up to. I redownloaded it at the beginning of 2016, and I have made close to 400 matches, usually matching with about 1/2 - 3/4 of the girls i swipe right. To give some context, I live in a college town of around 12,000 students around my age of 22. Tinder is what you make of it, and following up with matches could be for you. I would rather hit it off with a girl I've met in person. I have had friends make many hookups off tinder, and some who can hardly get a match. This app feels like fake connection to me; picking someone like a product off Amazon or something. It doesn't have the same feeling of seeing a girl for the first time who can catch your breath.
