Following the success of PokemonGO and the rumors about the NX, do you believe the NX will revolutionize console/handheld gaming as its predecessor the Wii did? Also, how do you think it'll impact current gaming trends such as 4K gaming and VR?

You're overlooking quite a lot of points.

First, that the Wii had incredible initial sales, but its attachment rate was pretty low. Furthermore, the Wii spawned fewer new, enduring IPs than the PS3 or the 360. That became a big problem when launching the WiiU.

The WiiU also didn't keep the casual market that the Wii had picked up. That was lost to mobile (which didn't exist in quite the same way when the Wii launched in 2006, three years before angry birds), and that could very well be a permanent loss. Time will tell.

Additionally, Pokemon Go was not developed by Nintendo. In fact, it's not even primarily benefiting Nintendo, seeing as they have only a ~30% stake in the Pokemon Company. Setting aside the financial aspects, Pokemon Go isn't built on their tech, their know-how, or by any of their talent assets. That's a scary thought because it means Nintendo does not have the ability to recreate that particular success internally.

Furthermore, Pokemon Go has been hemorrhaging players, so its popularity appears to be ephemeral (which is the same thing that happened to its predecessor, Ingress, made by the same company).

Whatever popularity the NX has, it will NOT be based on the Wii or Pokemon Go, because neither of those were successful in the way that the NX needs to be successful; enduringly, defensively and ownably.
