Food inferiority

You should never feel ashamed or inferior based on your cultures food. My boyfriend and I are opposite of you. I'm white and he's Vietnamese American. I love to try new food and expanding my palate personally. I know not everyone's that way, but I think food is a huge part of a culture and it should be atleast accepted and given the same respect even if it's not to your liking. No food is inferior.

I kind of see food across the world as similar on a basic level. You have your meat (or source of protein), vegetables, fruits. Main dishes, sides and so on. Similar in formula, but different in preparation and ingredients. Idk if that makes sense but anyways, I've tried chicken feet, fish eye balls, octopus...etc all kinds of things. Things that I grew up thinking were gross as a child because I was influenced by my southern white family that ate green beans, mac n cheese and chicken strips every day.

I started opening up to new foods after moving out, but I really got into eating different Asian foods after I started dating my boyfriend and I think that's really helped me open up to the culture as well.
