Footage shows fatal encounter between Charlotte cops, Keith Lamont Scott

the larger narrative of all of this, as so often is, the lack of understanding between both sides of this conflict. Both cops and the african american community don't realize, or refuse to acknowledge, that these conflicts stem from a lack of local/state government accountability. The fact of the matter is that organizations like the BLM movement shouldnt be talking to presidential candidates about how they will help; we all know trump doesnt know his ass from his elbow, but even if either candidate had a genuine interest in solving this issue, they can't. The police captain is appointed by local office, not national. How funds get allocated towards training cops is decided locally, not nationally, and if you train cops to shoot because the shoot first technique is the easiest and cheapest technique, thats what cops will do. Local government officials get reelected at disgraceful rates because most people just don't look at the larger narrative here. During the civil rights movement, there was something that could be done nationally, through the constitution. But nothing can be done about the behavior of cops through national legislation. This is a never ending circus because both sides are targeting each other, instead of the real source of this struggle.
