I’m 33, had whooping cough when I was 7 and I almost died.

My pediatrician wasn’t giving out the DTaP vaccine because he said that he was seeing way too many super high fevers with it and “he can treat a cough but he can’t treat brain damage.”

Then when I did get whooping cough I was misdiagnosed by his office like 5 times before he finally said oh yeah I didn’t vaccine you, you have whooping cough, here’s some antibiotics.

Luckily I was better within 24 hours, but I was sick for WEEKS. Who knows who else I may have infected during that time.

Anyway...vaccinate your damn kids. Even now when I get a bad cough I get anxiety attacks. I distinctly remember the sound I made and the feeling of desperately wanting to breathe but no air comes.
