For Christians who believe that actual belief in Christ's divinity is required for salvation: how do you explain Luke 10 and 18

John 3:16 " 16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. "

The question is, what does "believes in him" entail? Do you have to believe in him in a "I believe in you, champ" way? Do you have to believe in him in the sense that he is God?

Clearly, though, you must believe in Jesus to have eternal life.

I can't believe this nonsense has been up for seven hours without the most obvious rebuttal.

"Anyone who has a billion dollars can buy a nice car" may be true, but it certainly doesn't exclude everyone who has less than a billion dollars.

Similarly, even if everyone who believes in Jesus gets eternal life, there is nothing in the verse that says that is the only way to get it, and the OP's verses make it very clear that there are other ways.
