For Generation Z, the coronavirus crisis is validation of its liberal politics

You have a point, some somewhat liberal policy would work in a situation exactly like this, but it would work out temporarily. Because we didn't know enough about the virus until it was too late, nobody could've truly prepared for this (and that's the fault of the Chinese government). So, "care packages" or whatever they're being called like what many Republicans are putting forward will be helpful. However, if these policies were to become permanent, it would only serve to damage the average person.

Also, had enough been known about this virus before it was too late, it should've been on the people to prepare themselves instead of having the government come to the rescue because you were too lazy to help yourself.

If anything, the virus shows that some "liberal" policy might work amidst a pandemic/lockdown forced by the government, but only in that specific scenario
