For Klinsmann's USMNT, balancing "Mia San Mia", ambition no simple task - Straus

I was under the impression it was because the US was in the midst of a losing streak?

I've said this before but just because the results don't matter doesn't matter doesn't mean the performances are meaningless. They show us how the team trains, player performances, what the coaches are trying etc.

The fact that we kept dropping games didn't bother me. What got me is how Klinsmann reacted and explained the results. For example when he blames the fitness culture of the player pool when he's been overseeing the regime for almost four years. If he's four years in and there's still a culture problem, who's at fault here? Either he's not getting a clear message across of what he expects from his players or it's starting to fall of deaf ears. Either situation would be a major red flag for USMNT coaching staff situation.

Or how about the formation experiment? Was it to add a formation to the toolbox for later on down the road? A sign of progression for our team? Nope, it was because he didn't like any of the fullbacks in MLS. Keep in mind that the only reason this January camp is available to him because MLS isn't currently in session. And when he gets tired of that new 3-5-2 they've been practicing (which apparently only took 45 minutes for him to see enough) he now has to use a converted winger that struggled to see time for his Championship team.

He's saying that Brek Shea who can hardly see the field for Birmingham is a better LB option than anything else available in MLS? Not to mention he can't be bothered to try out new MLS talent in Camp Cupcake when he was more than ok with taking a raw Yedlin or Greene to the freaking World Cup.

That's where my problem is. He blames others for things lying under what is supposed to be his own control. Then he makes questionable squad moves and again blames others when it doesn't pan out.
