For the love of Christmas.....

Let me start off my multi-part rant by saying that no, change is not ALWAYS a good thing.

Now that I've gotten that out of the way, I'd be willing to bet that if the format changes got rid of the Chase, in the next off-season this sub would be full of "they should have kept the Chase so insert name here wouldn't have ran off with the Championship after 4 out of 36 races". Some people like to bitch for the sake of having something to bitch about, and I'm seeing more and more of it within the NASCAR community.

NASCAR in its current state has been more competitive than it has ever been. You have to realize that NASCAR really is trying to make the sport more enjoyable for all of us. Just think about it: no one that is in charge of a multi-billion dollar company is INTENTIONALLY going to run it into the ground (I'm obviously not talking about things like the Enron scandal or embezzlement cases, don't be stupid), and yes, that includes Brian France.

I highly doubt that they're sitting in a board room, saying things like "okay, how can we take this 70 years of history, excitement, and competition, and utterly ruin it to the point where the WNBA has higher ratings than us?" There's no way that NASCAR is trying to ruin the sport. They are working their asses off to try and please the entire fanbase, and I thank them for all the effort they've put into making what, for me, is the only sport worth watching anymore.

I've been hooked on racing since I was three years old (I'll be 28 in July). NASCAR has been the only consistent part of my life for a quarter of a century (looking at you, Mark Martin, Mr. Consistency), and I, for one, am VERY excited to see what the future holds, especially with Monster as the sponsor.

And, with that being said...BOOM. Let's get geared up for Speedweeks. Cheers!
