For us newish players, What tips should we know when playing?

Passing: 1. Never playaction = too much time for the pass rush to get to your QB. 2. Drags and slants = quick completions that move the chains, especially if your opponents DBs are not pressing. 3. Quick passes to your RBs in the flats = big gains against blitzes, and first downs against most zones. 4. Always go deep at least twice each drive, to keep your opponent "honest". 5. If you're getting blitzed frequently, you must "max protect" and "slide" your O-line to the side you think the blitz is coming from: make sure you don't accelerate the clock, so you have the full 20 seconds pre-play to audible, and take your time / allow for laggy button presses etc

Running: 1. Not every run play will get 5 yards: don't stop running b/c you lost yards on a couple of plays - stick with it, as it confuses your opponent's playcalling when you can run and throw + you control the clock, and the opponent cannot score if they don't have the ball! 2. FB run at least twice every drive: and if you do it once, and get a big gain, keep doing it until they stop it! If you can literally go 75 yards on your FB the whole drive, do it! 3. Inside zone plays still work well: and your new O-line can handle just about anything: inside zone runs should be the majority of your run plays, as most of them work. 4. Run a toss play at least twice a drive: to keep the opponent worried about the edges, and the middle of the field open for those inside zone runs 5. Get ready with your sticks to make some nice veers/cuts, and hit the "A" button with your "battle ready" perk on David Johnson: you will get some nice, big plays downfield

Stopping the pass: 1. Blitzing on 1st down and/or 3rd and short: the linebacker corps and D-line I have recommended are strip-sack specialists, and if you blitz 6 you should get instant pressure on the QB / sacks / fumbles. I recommend "Nickel", "Over Storm Brave" play. But use whatever 6 man blitz you feel works. I user my FS on these blitzes. 2. Playing it safe/soft on 3rd and long passing downs: With your nice corners and safeties, "Quarters" formation, "Cover 3 Drop" is a very nice play for getting picks, and stopping most pass plays from going big. I recommend usering your middle linebacker on this play, and going for user picks. 3. Getting the correct mix of man-blitzes, and soft zones is important: as it affects your opponent's play calling. 4. User picks can literally be the difference between winning and losing: and practice makes perfect. 5. Don't be upset or dejected if you cannot stop some opponents: sometimes they get a combo of luck and skill, and seem impossible to stop - but eventually you'll make a play! Wink just keep mixing up the blitzes and zones, to keep them off balance Smile

Stopping the run: 1. I think it's time to stop using a 3-4.The most basic and effective play against the run, is the 4-3 formation, "Tampa 2" play: you won't get tackles for loss, but you also shouldn't get burned big. I recommend spreading your linebackers, and usering your FS, in case it's a pass play, or the opponent RB does get to the second level. 2. Do not run commit, ever. There is no need, and it will only result in a cheeky opponent scoring a TD. 3. If you don't want to use a 4-3, then "hard flat" zone plays with 3 or 4 LBs on the field, are what you want. 4. Usering tackles on the RB are very important: and your best bet for a tackle for loss - which will discourage your opponent from running - a a lot of people give up on the run after 1 bad play! Your new d-line are awesome at stuffing the middle of the field, and ahve great play recognition

This is from the honorable u/Trumpetmonkey, I've started using a lot of these tips and I'm playing lights out so far, hopefully they help you as much as they're helping me
