They were walking to recess, my child says they weren’t talking and nothing happened leading to that moment.

I know that sometimes kids will hit someone back or something. Whether my child walks quietly and stays in line and doesn’t mess around, I can’t say. We teach them about respect, boundaries, not to hit back when someone hits them, and to always follow the rules (walking instead of running in the hall, not talking/messing around).

But apparently now my child said that the other child has tried kicking them in the same area multiple times.

The lashing out at us part was from last year and we have since worked on self-regulation and dealing with anger since then especially since they had help from the counselor. We haven’t had any kind of lashing out like last year since school started this year.
